Individuals with a BMI range between 25 and 30 which represents the 85th and 95thpercentiles respectively are referred to as overweight. Individuals with BMI equal to or greaterthan 30 are known as obese (Qazi et al., 2010). According to the World Health Organization(WHO) report, the number of children and adolescents with obesity condition has risen over theyears. The rates of obesity among the children and teenagers have increased from 1% over theyears which are a representative of 5 and 6 million girls and boys respectively. The percentage ofgirls with a BMI greater than 30 in 2016 across the world was 6% which is approximately 50million whereas the rate of boys was 8% representing 74 million. The number of total populationwith obese condition among the children and teenagers globally was 124 million in 2016compared to 11 million in 1975 with a total of 213 million overweight children last year. Therate of obesity among the low and middle-income countries is higher compared to developedcountries (Pienaar, 2015).
