XL Data Analyst Assignment 1
You have the necessary XL Data Analyst Files and are now ready
to complete this assignment. Also, you will be using this data in
upcoming assignments, so please make sure you keep two copies of
this data. Keep a set that in case one gets corrupted you can
replace it with a clean file. When you open the data files, you may see the following across
the top of the page: "Security Warning: Macros have been disabled" Enable Content Go ahead and click on the Enable Content Button. This will allow
you to use the Data Analyst software in conjunction with this
data. You will notice when you open a file that there are two
worksheets: Data and Define Variables. The Data worksheet is the
actual data that accompanies the project. The Define Variables is
the ‘code book’ for the data. You will learn more about code
books later but they are simply the instructions on how to code a
survey when it is returned. The code book is important for you so
you can make sense out of the Data file. Review both. Complete the following projects: Assignment #1: Open the Friendly Market File. ï‚· How many survey respondents (data files) are in this data
set? ï‚· Determine the number of people who shop at Circle K
regularly? In your answer include the formula you used to determine
the answer to this question. Assignment #2: Open the AAConcepts File ï‚· How many people responded to this survey? ï‚· How many respondents are between the ages of 25 to 34? In
your answer include the formula you used to determine the answer to
this question. ï‚· What is the Average age of the respondents to the survey? In
your answer include the formula you used to determine the answer to
this question Assignment #3: Now, you will notice on the top menu list for your Excel there
is now an "Add-Ins" option. This is the Macros you enabled earlier
and will be using throughout the remainder of this course. Click on
Add-Ins. You will now see on the left "XL Data Analyst". Click on
this option and you will see a drop down menu. Review each of the
options in this list. Which options in this drop down list could
have been used to answer the first two assignments you just
completed? Make sure to list both the Data Analyst routine with the
assignment, e.g. Summarize, Average could have been used to answer
Assignment __ part ___. Complete the above assignments and submit your answers to the
Dropbox as a Word document
no later than Sunday 11:59 PM EST/EDT.
