The mission
statements, are the expression from organizations like police
departments which pertains to each department's purpose that is
guided by goals, objectives and other values. What makes these
missions different from one another is that every department as its
agenda. Some police department is small, understaffed, work in poor
conditions, financially unstable, and lack managerially. The
policedepartment
of Spokane, Portland, Houston, and Madison differ because of the
concerns about efficiency, legality, equity, and accountability.
The primary goals for police departments are to protect life,
property, and maintain order under the laws. (Cordner, 2016) The
goals and objectives of each police agency should contribute to the
overall purpose

Im afraid with
the mission each department is imposing the citizens will begin
taking the laws into their own hands. I think the agencies focused
so much on the communicating with the public rather than what a
police department objectives are. I know that citizens communicate
the calls that police are dispatched, but there are other goals an
agency must seek beside focusing on community relations. Neither
agency focused on the objectives. This means the above police
departments must direct their energies and activities towards
accomplishing primary goals. (Cordner, 2016) Police officers used
these missions as guides, so if the mission elaborates on the
public, then how do the above police departments propose the police
officers to be productive? Some police departments have multiple
division; therefore, each division within the department should
have a separate mission because each division has different goals
and objectives.
